VALENTINA'S INSTRUMENT FUND
This program was created in memory of Valentina Charlap-Evans, a beloved member of the Newburgh Chamber Music community who spent over 30 years of her working life here in the Valley as a devoted musician and teacher. Val served as principal violist of the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, performing with some of the greatest classical music personalities of our time, and her teaching studio of viola students was an environment of love, joy and encouragement.
Valentina had a remarkable career performing with the Festival Casals in Puerto Rico, The Calgary Philharmonic, the Albany Symphony Orchestra, The Springfield Symphony Orchestra and The N.E. Pennsylvania Philharmonic.
We accept instruments (can be repaired if necessary) that will go to area schools and music students. To donate your instrument(s) and/or get more information about this program, contact Dr. Joel Evans at evansj@newpaltz.edu or fill out the contact form below.
